天主教會為特區前景祈禱（英文見下方）

三月廿五日(主日)既為新特首選舉日，湯漢樞機籲請信眾是日尤其要同心同德，為香港特區的前景祈禱。以下信友禱文是供各堂區參考：

請為香港特區的民主政制發展祈禱。願普選能早日得以落實，讓香港市民享有充份參政的公民權利。為此，我們同聲祈禱。
請為下一屆香港特區行政長官的選舉祈禱。我們深信天主是人類歷史的主宰。無論選舉結果如何，願全體信眾都能聯同香港其他市民，積極面對未來，並擕手建設香港社會。為此，我們同聲祈禱。
請為下一屆特區政府祈禱。願主福佑政府官員，誠信有節，以促進民生，關注弱小，造福社會。為此，我們同聲祈禱。
請為基督信眾的關社使命祈禱。願主光照啟發我們，以福音精神，審辨世事，俾能成為地上的鹽、世界的光和社會的酵母。為此，我們同聲祈禱。

Coming Sunday, March 25, being the date set for the election of the new SAR Chief Executive, Cardinal John Tong is appealing to the faithful to be united in mind and heart in offering special prayers on that occasion for the future of Hong Kong. We would like to propose for your consideration the following special intentions to be used at the PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL during Mass on that day:

Let us pray for the progress of the political reform in Hong Kong: May universal suffrage be implemented as soon as possible, so that all the citizens of Hong Kong may fully exercise the civil right of taking an active part in politics. For this we pray.
Let us pray for the coming election of the Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive: As Christians we firmly believe that all events that take place on earth are in the hands of God. Whatever might be the outcome of the Chief Executive election, let us trust in the Providence of God and face the future with serenity and hope. For this we pray.
Let us pray for the incoming SAR Government: May God bless our government officials, so that, with uprightness, integrity and the sense of responsibility, they may formulate sound policies and implement them in improving people’s livelihood, caring for the poor and the needy, and promoting the wellbeing of society at large. For this we pray.
Let us pray for our social mission as Christians: May God enlighten and inspire us, so that we may scrutinize our daily affairs in the spirit of the Gospel and become ourselves the salt of the earth, the light of the world and the yeast of society. For this we pray
